Adobe Flash Player for your Smart Phone and Tablet

If you have recently purchased a new Smart phone or Tablet with the Android Operating System then you have probably realized that Adobe Flash Player is no longer supported in the mobile app market.

This can make web browsing frustrating because there are many websites that are still using flash.  Videos and some content will no longer be available for you to see.

Have no fear we have found a way for you to install flash player manually to your device.

Go to your settings in your phones menu, go to privacy and scroll down to allow third party apps to install.

Click the link below from your Device that supports your Operating system:

Android 4.0 and 4.1: Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.48)Android 2.3 and 3.0: Flash Player 11.1 for Android 2.x and 3.x (11.1.111.44)

*** If you can not access this directly from your phone you can copy and paste the link in an email to yourself and then open the email from your device.

You can also access these directly from Adobe Flash Player website:
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

After clicking the link click install. Once it has installed go back into your phone/tablets settings and unclick the allow third party apps installation.

You now will have flash capabilities using the stock browser that came with your device.  Flash will not work in added browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, or Opera.

Enjoy!

Adobe confirms targeted attacks due to security hole in Reader

In a security bulletin, Adobe confirmed that the vulnerabilities could cause Reader and Acrobat to crash, potentially opening the door for an attacker to gain control of the system.

“Adobe is aware of reports that these vulnerabilities are being exploited in the wild in targeted attacks designed to trick Windows users into clicking on a malicious PDF file delivered in an email message,” the company revealed in the bulletin.

Adobe said it’s currently working on a fix for the security issue and will update its bulletin once a launch has been scheduled. In the meantime, Windows users of Adobe Reader XI and Acrobat XI can protect themselves from the security exploit by turning on Protected View as follows:
Open Reader or Acrobat. Click on the Edit menu, select Preferences, and then click on the Security (or Security Enhanced) option. In the Protected View section at the top of the window, click on the button to enable “Files from potentially unsafe locations” and then click OK.

The workaround above helps Windows users of Reader and Acrobat XI. But the flaw itself affects several different versions of the products, specifically:

  • Adobe Reader XI (11.0.01 and earlier) for Windows and Macintosh
  • Adobe Reader X (10.1.5 and earlier) for Windows and Macintosh
  • Adobe Reader 9.5.3 and earlier 9.x versions for Windows and Macintosh
  • Adobe Acrobat XI (11.0.01 and earlier) for Windows and Macintosh
  • Adobe Acrobat X (10.1.5 and earlier) for Windows and Macintosh

Adobe Acrobat 9.5.3 and earlier 9.x versions for Windows and Macintosh

The vulnerability was reportedly uncovered by security firm FireEye, which explained how it’s exploited by attackers:

Multisite Management

PATG-LOGO-Brown-51.png

We are excited to announce that we just found a great new way to help those who manage more than one site/blog.

WordPress has a Multi-Site Function available. It appears to have been available for the last couple of Years. We are not sure why it’s not been publicized more, because we feel it can be a great asset to many People.

Multi-Site allows you to have as many Sites/Blogs as you want on just one WordPress Installation.

As an Example this feature could be beneficial to a Band that would like to have a site for each Album, Tour, Shows, and maybe for each Band Member.

An Author could benefit by having a separate site for each Book, Speaking Engagements, Events etc…

You Purchase one Domain, and the Sites can be set one of two different ways.

  1. You can set up each separate site as a sub-domain. (blog.yourdomain.com). This installation is a little more expensive because it requires a wildcard hosting by your Webhost.
  2. Each site has a different path. For example: yourdomain.com/site1, yourdomain.com/site2

If you think the Multi-Site setup can benefit you and would like help setting it up Contact Us today for a Free Quote.

Things like continued Customer Care, Advice, Direction, and Customer Loyalty should always be provided for free.  Once your Sister gets married do you start charging your Brother-inlaw for your help? Okay, maybe a bad example, but you get my point.

My Goal is always to help my Customers to become educated about Social Media to the point that if they chose they can Manage there own Networking sites. If they wish to learn how to maintain there own Websites or Blogs I help them to become self sufficient at that too. Does it cost me future work? Definitely not! Word of mouth from a satisfied Customer can be as valuable as a TV Ad.

I will try to share with you all one or more Marketing resources every week. Like anything else there are people out there that have done a lot of research, training and are very experienced in the Social Media and Marketing fields. Sort of like Surgeons who have specialty fields. I will help Connect you with other Blogs and Resources from these very Specialized People.

This weeks Suggested Resource is the Social Media Examiner. They are very dedicated to sharing there information with you. And it’s FREE! Comments Disabled

To help You manage your Social Media accounts like Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin there are tools available that you can use to schedule your postings. Using these tools you can make the best of your valuable time by scheduling your postings hours, days or even months  in advance.

Here’s a few tools that I recommend.

  • Blogger allows you to set a time for the posting.
  • Hootsuite is one of my favorites because you can manage multiple types of Social Media Accounts.

These are just a few that are available. With some research or advice from a Professional, Social Media  can be made simple and attainable for You and your Business.

Don’t let Social Media become a chore. Keep it fun and enjoy!

Do I need Social Media for my Business?

Now that Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Blogging, Linkedin) has become a big part of today’s communication you may be wondering if your Company would benefit getting involved in it, or to what depth of involvement should you apply to it.

Although people are using the internet to purchase items/services they still desire that personable relationship with the Businesses they purchase from. It’s not much different than the 60′s and 70′s when the local Butcher new you by Name and new what you needed before you asked. They also want to know the legitimacy of your Company. What others have to say about your services and products.

Because of the bad economy everyone is looking for the best deals. By offering discounts through your Social Media (Facebook, Twitter) you can increase your sales and leads.

Linkedin is a great tool for Companies who offer Services to other Business Professionals. At Linkedin you can find Leads to those who are in the fields that you target for your Services.

Blogging can help you provide up to date information to your Customers. Blogging is also a large part of the Search Engine Optimization tools used to help Customers find you when using a Search Engine.

You may be thinking that You don’t have time for all of this Social Media involvement. Don’t worry there are many tools out there that can help you to take only a small part of your time. You can Link your Blog to your Facebook page and it updates it when you blog. You link your Twitter to your Facebook page and that updates your twitter automatically. You then cover all the Networks with one update! If you don’t have any extra time you can hire Someone to take care of it for you. Here at Promoting All Things Good we offer that Service for a reasonable fee.

Change is sometimes hard to accept. Without making this change your Company may get left behind. You can visit our site at  Promoting All Things Good to see an example of how this is done. Or Contact US.
